BAFTA | How Star Wars: Galactic Racer Was Made With Fuse Games

BAFTA has released a forty-minute film on the making of Star Wars: Galactic Racer, shot at Fuse Games in Guildford, and I was honored to sit down with them in September on behalf of Lucasfilm Games.

It goes behind the scenes on how a team with this much racing heritage built a Star Wars game from the ground up: the creation of the worlds and characters, how each vehicle class earned its own feel, and how a floor sander ended up in the sound of a speeder bike. It is the fullest telling of this project anywhere, and the most honest.

I have been a BAFTA member since 2023, and having BAFTA tell the story of one of our games, with the people who made it, is one of the proudest moments of this launch. Thank you to BAFTA Games, to Matt Webster, Kieran Crimmins and the Fuse team, and to everyone at Lucasfilm Games who was in the room from the first pitch.

Put the kettle on. This one is worth your forty minutes.
