Star Wars: Galactic Racer | Out Now
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is out today, worldwide, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Three years ago a brand-new studio in Guildford walked in with a pitch, about three weeks after they had founded the company. The pitch was not Star Wars Burnout. It was: what can a Star Wars racing game be that no one has seen before? Today you can play the answer. Seven planets including Crait, four vehicle classes racing together, a run-based campaign where every race carries consequence, and Sebulba himself in the paddock.
Congratulations to the extraordinary team at Fuse Games: Matt Webster, Pete Lake, Steve Uphill, Kieran Crimmins, Bill Lane, Mark Bridges, Nathaniel Daw, and the roughly seventy-five people who built this from nothing. To Secret Mode for getting it into the world. To Gordy Haab for a score that makes a final lap feel like a finale, to Chris Remo and Duncan Fyfe for a story that gives racing a reason, and to a cast that made the Galactic League feel lived-in. And to my team at Lucasfilm Games, who were in the room from the first pitch to gold.
We said it from the beginning: don’t make a good racing game and put Star Wars on it. Make a game that could only exist as a Star Wars racing game. I think they did.
Racers, it is time to start your engines. See you in the League.
